The International Racing Festival 2010 offered many exciting supercars worth millions of dollars!
On the Carlsberg site in Valby, a race track has been built between the old breweries and bottling plants. It will host the 2010 International Racing Festival.
The event aims to raise money for the Danish Red Cross by offering tours in car categories with different prices.
Thorkild Thyrring has assembled a team of professional drivers from home and abroad, plus fast supercars from world-renowned car manufacturers, to give paying customers a co-driver experience during the 2010 International Racing Festival. With a camera, I will try to capture moments in different places on the pitch.
An Aston Martin turns hard into the corner and thunders past with a delightful hum. Later, somewhere else on the track it turns 180 degrees, a quick squeeze with the right foot makes the Aston take off.
The Aquila CR1 comes down the track with good speed to make a controlled left turn. It looks fantastic, this low, wide sports machine.
If you’re on the footbridge over the track, it looks even better. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, 1001 hp, speed: 0-100 km/h is reached in 2.5 sec. A brief glimpse and it’s over. It looks cool when it just lifts the rear wing for extra braking power.
The sound of a Corvette is heard approaching a U-turn, braking and steering in a smooth precision skid through the turn. The rear end goes all the way to the concrete wall. It accelerates on with a lovely V8 sound.
The beautiful Nissan Skyline GTR with 900 hp available sounds like angels singing when given a little pedal.
Further up the track you can hear the Italian Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with the HGTE package unfolding. Little brother Ferrari California is not intimidated and does its part to make it a great experience for the passenger.
Historic Ford GT40 doing some laps.
The Mercedes AMG 63 is allowed to order something both forward and a little sideways. The gullwing AMG SLS with the snarling/humming super sound whizzes past, then a little further on brakes and turns right.
In the distance, the loud sound of Lars Kragh’s Porsche GT3 can be heard, which makes people cheer every time it passes by.
A Tiger Aviator 209, open Super Seven inspired lightweight racer, blasts off.
A little later, the lightning-fast Ariel Atom passes by.
The International Racing Festival 2010 is a busy event. Watch our slideshow in the video below.
