Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen

Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen, supercars at Rosenborg Castle!
The Gumball 3000 participants had their Danish rally stop in 2015 at Rosenborg Castle. It was lovely that the Gumball 3000 route went through Copenhagen. That made it possible to see the gorgeous, creatively wrapped Gumball cars.
It's incredible how much the wrap matters. It's like "clothes make the man", just for cars.
This year's theme is "Las Vegas Casino". The theme has to be carried by the cars throughout the whole trip, which goes through the following cities:
Stockholm - Oslo - Copenhagen - Amsterdam - Reno - San Francisco - Los Angeles - Las Vegas.
The Gumball 3000 organisers opened the area at Rosenborg Castle at 1:30 pm. From that time until 10 pm, when it closed, the cars could arrive.
On the way from Oslo to Copenhagen, the route went down along the west coast of Sweden. Here they had to make a small detour past the Koenigsegg factory, where they also got the chance to test their own cars at the nearby airfield.
So no one knew exactly when the cars would arrive. We did, however, get running updates from people following the participants closely on Facebook and Twitter.
The first car showed up around 3:30 pm. It was a silver Porsche 918 Spyder.
Do you know that feeling of having an idea of what a car looks like without ever having seen it in real life? That is, only having seen it in videos and pictures. And then afterwards seeing it in real life!
Most times, you're luckily pleasantly surprised. That was the case for me too, this time. On top of that, it was also dressed in a casino theme, which made it look even more gorgeous.
The Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen video below shows, among others, the wide, great-sounding Ferrari 458 Liberty Walk, which went under the team name "Team Anime".
Watching it drive down through the crowd, only to suddenly stop for a moment and lower the car a few centimetres, then roll on, was a true pleasure. The throttle pedal was put to good use, letting the sound from the engine unfold freely.
All of this happened to the great delight of the crowd.
Cars you don't see every day in Denmark were represented, including:
A Ferrari F50 from 1995, an open Ferrari 250 from 1959 and a Chevrolet Camaro Z28 from 1969. Each with their own special sound.
Supercars kept arriving right up until closing time at 10 pm.
Enjoy the Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen video, which hopefully conjures up the atmosphere at a Gumball 3000 rally stop:
